PH 7.85 was today’s setting, water temp reached 1.2 deg on Monday after frost overnight and lots of hailstone so water temp starting to rise again. Fish do not like large drops in water temperature in one go,.

Large Drop in water temp this week has made today’s match a tough one, despite this fact anglers still caught.

With colder water temperatures, the catch rates are better later in afternoon, depending on weather conditions the choice of tackle and end tackle is critical for catch rates, Carp, perch, Rudd, Roach, Ide, Skimmer Bream, and Tench still catching.

Liam Shilling on pole caught golden tench, roach, rudd, fishing 8 metres out from peg.

Maggot and Sweetcorn and Caster best baits.

Despite the lowest water temperature in thirteen months, carp are still feeding, bites are a lot shyer with the tip not pulling around.

Bassetts

Fish are feeding mid water to surface producing best results. On Sunday  Anthony Longstaff fishing the pole had a good day catching Rudd, Ide, Roach & Golden Orfe,  also Shaun Renolds on Pole produced  Carp & Rudd, Roach & Ide   Good catches considering the very low water temperatures.
