Not many anglers can ever have more than DOUBLED a world record in fishing, but that’s exactly what Dean Reddy might be claiming after landing two Giant Guitarfish from the South African shoreline.
Dean, who measures all his catches using a tried and tested formula before tagging and returning them, was fishing in Kwazulu Natal when he beached fish estimated at 195lb and 275lb. The existing IGFA all tackle world record for the species is currently a fish of 119lb landed at Bird Island in the Seychelles in 1995.
