Midlands match anglers have been left mourning the loss of the much-loved figure of Steve Yeomans, who has died aged only 46.

Steve was a stalwart of the canal match fishing circuit and fished alongside Mark Downes in the 1990s for Birmingham based Starlets.
Mark told Match Fishing magazine: “Steve was a great lad who was always the life and soul of the party. He was a particularly good angler on small canals and a great addition to any team. He will be sorely missed.” Steve leaves a wife and two children.
