Angling Trust Competitions- Coronavirus Update
In light of the further three-week lockdown issued by the government on Thursday 16th April, The Angling Trust and partners have taken the decision to postpone all competitions until June as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
We have already rescheduled a large number of competitions including Fish’O’Mania and The Commercial National and are in the process of drawing up plans for matches later in the calendar year, with further new announcements to follow.
Jamie Cook, Angling Trust Chief Executive, added:
“We’re incredibly thankful to all the fishery owners and representatives for all their rescheduling efforts in these challenging times. We would also like to thank the hundreds of anglers that have shown great faith in our competitions by booking or rescheduling their tickets”.
We do indeed appreciate that angling may not take priority in these unprecedented times, but we are focused on providing an extensive catalogue of matches once angling is back on the table and we’re sure that anglers, like us, are longing for some time on the water”.
Furthermore, we are lobbying with Government to make sure that the voice of angling is at the front of the queue when it comes to the relaxation of social distancing and the roll-out of our beloved sports and pastimes”.
The Angling Trust will continue to work with partners in both the public and private sectors to monitor the situation and we’ll publish updates across; social media, emails to competitors and on our booking site.
