Best Perch: Graham Brownlie Peg17 2lb 12¼oz.

Light rain greeted the anglers for round 4 of the Bagem Matchbaits Pairs league at Dog Lane Napton this week. It turned out that Daventry AC pairs made a clean sweep of the top three places with one pair, Barry Carr and Dean Hancox, getting the perfect 1 point per section.

The Top Single weight came from the in form peg 14 where Barry Carr found that the big Orfe and Perch were again in residence and also some caster roach. Barry’s total weight of 16lb 9¾oz and partner Dean Hancox’s section winning 7lb 14¼oz, put them to the top slot of the match and now second in the league. It’s rumoured that before leaving the Kings Head, Barry got himself a double Brandy to steady his nerves!!

Second best weight of 10lb ¼oz was put on the scales by Rich Wills at peg4 and his pairs partner, Simon Potter was able to find 6lb 15¼oz from peg31. There combined 4 points gave them second on the day and has promoted them to number one of the pairs league.

Third placed pairs were Jake King at peg 24 with 4lb 8oz of perch and roach, and Graham Cheney at peg 12 with 7lb 2¼oz of Orfe and Skimmers, their 7 points has moved them up four places in the league to fifth place.

The best Perch pool went to Graham Brownlie with a Perch of 2lb 12¼oz from peg 17.

The fifth round will be on SATURDAY March 24th and Draw will be at the Kings Head Napton.
