Hallcroft fishery hosted Fish ’O’ Mania’s latest qualifier of 97 anglers who made their way to Retford. Although conditions worsened during the day, weights held up with over 85lbs required to get in the frame.
Top of the pile and qualifying for the £50,000 final was Steve Barraclough. The 33 year old gas fitter drew peg 27 on Croft and caught an impressive 134lbs 11oz. Steve chopped and changed between pellet shallow and fishing tight to the rushes in margins to take carp to 15lbs.
Second was Allan Crouch who amassed 118lbs 2oz in the five hours. Allan was locked in battle with Shane Blades on Reed lake, both catching volumes of small carp with just one fish separating the pair.
Shane finished with 114lbs 0oz from peg 34. Fishing tight to his reeds, Shane found carp to 10lbs willing to feed.
Fourth on the day was Dave Roberts with 86lbs 0oz on peg 5 Croft lake and in a close fifth position was Danny Myers who amassed 85lbs 6oz from peg 95 Moat outer.
Thanks to Terry Sears and the staff at Hallcroft for hosting the qualifier.

He needs to place the bait stations either side of each external door including fire exits and four around the skips which are located in the car parking area. The front reception area should be included in the external door areas. The boxes should be tethered and Jerome should ask for a site plan or just draw up a simple map of where they are placed.
