News has emerged of a the capture of a 15lb 4oz barbel from the Birmingham Anglers Association controlled stretch of the Warwickshire Avon on the last day of the season.
The fish, possibly the biggest ever barbel from the stretch and the biggest of the season from any BAA water, was caught by member Chris Blunt, who fished double 11mm pellet, the same tactics as he used to catch another super fish of 14lb 1oz from the stretch in January. Chris has also had chub to nearly 5lb on bread tactics there. Michael Cross has also reported a 10lb barbel from Wasperton in the last week of the season.
