Over fifty anglers turned up at Redditch’s Arrow Valley Lake for the John Sherwood Memorial match and they were greeted with strong winds – conditions which often see bream feed well as the daytime light values are cut down.

And so it proved with winner Mark Hemmings tempting eight of them plus two carp on Method feeder and popped-up white boilie on peg 69 for 43-9-0. In second spot Martin Tremlett had ten bream, but he also lost four carp on the pole and pellet on peg 70. He weighed in 37-5-0 but those lost carp cost him the win.
