It may still be pretty cold out there but Shatterford Fishery has already produced its first catfish of the year – a species more associated with the warmer months.
The beauty of Shatterford is that the lakes there are deep and so fish are less affected by the plunging temperatures. The 30lb catfish came from Stuarts Lake and fell to the rod of Daniel Rhodes, who was fishing a 15mm Spicy Tuna boilie on a size 10 barbless hook and 12lb line. It was Daniel’s third visit to the fishery, and his first ever catfish.
