Bob Gaines has potentially tied up the IGFA All-Tackle Length record for rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) with this 75 cm fish he caught while fishing Oregon’s Chetco River. 

Gaines enticed the trophy rainbow with a custom nymph fly and needed 10 minutes to land the fish after hooking it alongside guide Rye Phillips.

If approved, Gaines’ rainbow would tie the existing record, a 75 cm fish caught in 2011.
