IT’S clearly the month of the club angler as following last week’s capture of a record breaking barbel on the Royalty stretch of the Hants Avon in a club match, another one on the Ouse has produced a monster chub weighing 7lb 6oz.
Terry Noble of Vauxhall AC knew he had drawn a noted chub peg in the match between his club and Blunham and Kemspton AA on the river at Radwell.
The 45-year-old started piling in caster and maggot and opted to fish a stick float on just a size 18 hook and 2lb hooklength.
Fishing double bronze maggot mid river, he hooked into what he at first thought was a barbel, but turned out to be one of the biggest ever chub from the famous venue.
