Fishery Description

The New Home of Fish O Mania
NATIONALLY known for its tremendous pleasure & match weights and variety both winter and summer and now the home of the prestigious Fish ‘O’ Mania final and the Go Fishing show, Cudmore Fisheries has a vast array of facilities and fishing that will interest the match, club, pleasure, specialist or novice anglers.

With over 1,000 swims spread around 20 well-designed pools, the emphasis here is on variety and there are plans for the successful Cudmore blueprint to be used as a number of locations across the country.

The fishery has an amazing catchment area of visiting anglers, who travel from all over the country to the tiny Staffordshire village of Whitmore. It’s not unusual to find yourself fishing close to anglers from Liverpool, Manchester, Barnsley or Sheffield.

Cudmore’s stocking policy ensures top sport, winter and summer.

The Lodge, which is situated in the centre of the complex, has a large, seated restaurant and breakfasts, lunches and cooked meals are available every day. There’s also a bait shop. There are no long lists of banned methods or baits either, although pellets and groundbait must be bought at the fishery. Pleasure anglers can use keepnets at the management’s discretion but NO BARBEL are allowed in keepnets. The venue’s owners rely on the anglers to be sensible with tactics and the types and quantity of bait they use with them.

National Match Centre
These six designer match and pleasure pools were constructed with fairness in mind, and now into their fourth year (2006) are proving to be just that. There are 200 identical pegs split over all the six pools which have the same stocking rate of approximately 200lb/peg. All methods work, but pole fishing takes some beating in the summer months, while tip and waggler are best during the winter. Fish from 2lb to 6lb plus the ‘staff specials’.
