With ice on the lakes and aerators on fishing was far from ideal for this veterans match. However Jack Hobson found some carp willing to take his hairrigged corn on bomb tactics

With temperatures not getting above freezing, it was tough going for the veterans on moat pool. However, it was a tight finish with 2 ounces separating the top 3.
Dave Downes got the verdict with 5lb 4 oz. Dave used maggot over small nuggets of groundbait for skimmers and roach.
2 P Bagshaw, Barnsley Blacks, Peg Island 8; 5-2-0/ R Toulson, Notts AA; Peg Outer 80;5-2-0 There was a tie for second place with both anglers on 5lb 2oz. Both fished maggot on pole for there silverfish nets
4 D Evans, Retford, 3-8-0 5 B Rance, Retford, 2-10-0 

Sunday 16th December 2012, Daiwa Hallcroft Open Match
Croft/Canal (16 pegs)
1st J Skipper, Gainsborough, 69-2-0; Canal 20Jason Skipper was today’s clear winner with a nice net of carp all caught on expander pellet over micros on the pole.
2nd J Barningham, Harrisons Tackle, 39-2-0; peg Canal 7Second place fell to John Barningham who was also on the Canal. John used pellet on the pole at 12m.
3rd S Gray, Hallcroft, 28-10-0; peg Croft 22Stuart Gray took third place with a nice mixed net of carp skimmers and tench using pellet on the pole.
4th S Martin, Hallcroft, 27-0-0;

Sunday 16th December 2012, Daiwa Hallcroft Teams of 4 Silverfish League.
Moat/ Bridge (32 pegs)
1st M Elliott, Matrix Trentmen, 11-10-0; B isl 23Following a week which saw the lake frozen over, today’s silverfish match proved to be a tough challenge. Michael Elliott came out on top in the close battle for first place. Michael fished the pole at 12m using maggots and pellets to catch mainly skimmers in his winning net.
2nd L Hardwick, Sheffield, 11-7-0; B isl 11Leon Hardwick finished second with a net of skimmers caught on expander pellet over micros at 11m on the pole.
3rd K Baxter, Mosborough, 11-2-0; B isl 19Kev Baxter took third place with a nice net of all roach caught using bloodworm and joker on the pole. 
4th S Shepherd, Worksop, 10-7-0
