The milder conditions saw an upturn in sport for this latest vets open. Arthur Beresford won with 42lb of carp and had the added bonus of golden peg and an extra £100 of winnings. Arthur fished bomb and feeder with maggot and corn hookbaits for 9 carp to 6lb.

Harry opted for a pole approach and fished dead maggot over pellet slop for 3 carp and some skimmers to 2lb

Ian fished pole and pellet at 12m for 5 carp and a few silverfish

Rich Teigh chose to fish for the silverfish in this Friday open and it paid dividends as he returned an impressive 37lb. Rich fished at 13m with caster over groundbait for roach, skimmer and perch.
2nd M Stainsby (Doncaster) Peg 20 33-14-0
Mark fished a small pellet feeder with corn and meat hookbaits for 10 carp to 5lb
3rd A Favill (Tuxford) Peg 23 28-4-0
Andy fished maggot and pellet on long pole for a mixed bag of small carp and skimmers
4th A kinder (Maver/ Maryuku) 18-7-0

In mild conditions the carp continue to feed on Moat. Nick Speed drew peg 64 on Moat island and opted for feeder tactics to the far bank. He fished meat and corn for carp to 8lb
2 A Oldham, Halkon Hunt, 78-4-0; peg island 61
Second place went to Andy Oldham who used similar tactics to fall just one fish behind with 78-4-0
3 A Sellars, Bankside Tackle, 73-12-0; peg island 50
Andy Sellars took third spot, also catching on the feeder

Gordon fished groundbait/pellet feeder to the far bank for a whopping 125lb using hair-rigged corn for 20 carp to 10lb
2 Martin McIntyre, Doncaster, 48-4-0; peg island 43
Martin also fished the tip for his carp weight of 48-4-0
Silverfish:
1 Kev Vickers, Merlin Baits, 28-12-0
Kev fished pole over micro pellet at 12m for 28-12-0 of skimmers up to 2lb
2 Daz Oldham, Maltby, 20-0-0
Daz fished similarly for his 20lb net

Steve fished pole and pellet for an impressive mixed bag of silver and mixed carp. He fished at 14 m alternating maggot and expander pellet for tench and small carp.
2nd G Mumby (Retford) Peg 8 34-12-0
Garry used similar tactics to the winner but included over 20lb of skimmer-bream in his weight.

Kev fished caster at 7 m for all silver fish.

Windy conditions meant that tip fishing was the order of the day and Chris Line made the most of his peg with 6 carp on ground bait and pellet feeder. Chris cast tight to the far bank with hair-rigged corn on the hook.

Arthur continues his good run of form with his second place. Arthur fished bomb with pellet cone for 4 carp and a few skimmers.
