Consistent Steve Twigg came second with 31lb from outer peg 67. Steve fished pole with maggot and pellet for 3 carp and 15lb of skimmers

Nick Speed won this small open match on bridge pool 39. Nick fished pellet over micros at 13 and 14m for all skimmers for 33lb

Rich Teigh also fished pellet but balso on short pole for his all skimmer net

Moat Pool (60 pegs)
1st P Tatley, MAP Leegem, 63-11-0; peg isl 2
This Year’s MAP Leegem Spring league began, feeling more like a Winter league as the 60 anglers braved the sub zero wind chill temperatures in the coldest start to the long established series on Moat Pool. Pete Tatley ignored the favoured margins on island peg 2 and caught out in front at 6m using 6mm expander pellets over cupped in micros to catch a net of carp plus the odd bream for victory today.
2nd M Edgecombe, MAP Leegem, 48-4-0; peg out 97
With wind over his back today, Mal Edgecombe was able to hold the pole at 11m where he used 4mm expander pellet over 4mm feed pellets to catch mainly carp in his second placed net.
3rd W Lomas, MAP Leegem, 38-11-0; peg out 112
Wayne Lomas took third place with a net of carp too 6lbs fishing double hair rigged corn on a small feeder to the margins.

Temperatures barely reached zero but Jason Thomas made the most of his
end peg draw on Bridge outer to catch carp to 8lb on pole and pellet over micros.
