There were some impressive weights in this saturday match with 6 weights breaking the ton barrier. Nick Speed led the way from Island 11. Nick fished meat up and down in the water, kinder potting and loose feeding for 30 carp to 10lb.

Andy Sellars also used meat to good effect, but mainly fished 2ft deep at 13m for his carp dominated net

All the winning weights came off the canal, with the fish on moat having other things on their mind. Leading the field was Rich Teigh from canal peg 10. Rich fished pole and pellet across for carp to 3lb

2 P Miles, Doncaster, Peg Canal 12; 111-14-0

Pete fished meat and pellet across and down the middle for carp to 2lb

3 M Edgecombe, Doncaster, Peg Canal 4; 104-8-0

Mal also used meat to good effectfor his ton plus weight of stockies.

This was a good finish to an excellent league. Ben Holmes came out 2012 winner with 93lb. Ben fished meat and pellet on long pole and into the marginal reeds for 25 carp to 8lb

Martin fished short pole with worms and maggots over groundbait for 6 carp well into double figures and some skimmer bream

Daz alternated pste and pellet and meat on long pole for 8 carp to 10lb

The fish have been preparing for spawning and fishing has been iffy of late. Ian Temple drew near reed beds and blitzed the field with 84lb. Ian fished paste and pellets for 16 carp to 8lb

Steven fished corn over pellet and groundbait short and into the margins for carp and skimmers

Dave used meat for 2 carp and a few skimmers

Weighs were down as fish have been spawning for this latest open on Moat Pool. Mark Cordall fished meat and pellet on long pole on the deck and caught 6 carp to 8lb and a few skimmers

Arthur fished corn over pellet and groundbait on short pole for 5 carp and 20lb of skimmers

Dave fished caster and pellet on short pole for an impressive net of silvers

Thursday 17th May 2012 Daiwa Hallcroft Veterans

Bridge/Croft Pools (40 Pegs)

This was a tight finish for the Veterans on Croft and Bridge pools. Dave Fantom got the verdict from bridge Island 22. Dave fished shallow with meat at 13m for carp to 8lb

Just 1lb behind was Brian Sullivan. Brian fished pellet cone with corn and meat hair rigged for 5 carp and later switched to pole and meat for tench and skimmers

Terry fished caster and worm over groundbait for a net of mainly silvers.

Only 1 oz separated the top 2 for this friday match on moat. Sahne Pimperton made it 2 out of 2 with this latest victory. Shane fished meat on short pole at 6m for carp well into double figures

Dave fished casters and JPZ pellets over groundbait for 35 lb of skimmers and carp again into double figures
