Midlands match angler, Darren Cox, stars in a new TV show in which he shows how to catch chub and barbel from the Warwickshire Avon.

The episode of Total Coarse Fishing sees Darren fishing above Stratford-on-Avon where he catches some big chub on stick float, caster and hemp tactics before switching to the straight lead and catching his biggest ever barbel. It’s available to view online at www.onlinefishing.tv .
The stretch is fast moving and should fish well in the opening weeks of the season, as should the swifter swims at Twyford. On the River Severn sections that normally produce at this time of year include Knowle Sands and Hampton Loade.
