Guide Sidney Kennedy was driving around a stillwater on the Lee system in Ireland’s beautiful County Cork when he saw a shoal of bait fish scatter at the edge of a reedbed.
Quick as a flash he parked up, cast out his fly gear with an imitation frog hopper lure on the end, and found himself attached to this cracker of a pike going 25lb 4oz.
Sidney went on to catch another seven pike from the area, all on the fly. There’s a new angling guide and boat rental service on the Lee system which can put you on some great fly fishing and coarse angling – visit www.leeangling.com .
