Subfish Tackle Shop in Tibshelf near Alfreton in Derbyshire has signed a new sponsorship deal with the National Federation of Anglers, to sponsor the Ladies England team at the World Championships this summer in Hungary.
The sponsorship deal was finalised only a week ago and will allow Subfish full naming rights to the England Team, ‘Subfish NFA Ladies Team England’.
Subfish provides the latest tackle from all the major brands, The sponsorship will see Subfish working alongside the NFA to achieve their objective of increasing participation and awareness of ladies fishing. In the future Subfish are going to hold events which will provide ladies and all newcomers to the sport the opportunity to seek advice and purchase suitable tackle.
The sponsorship deal not only helps ‘Subfish NFA Ladies Team England’, but also gives the England team for Anglers with Disabilities additional funding as the £6,000 raised through the Go Fishing show can now go directly to the team and assist them taking part in the World Championships in Germany this summer.
The new deal takes effect immediately and Paul Baggaley, The Chief Executive of the NFA, comments, “I am really pleased that we have a new sponsor for the Ladies England team. Subfish are a new progressive angling company and I am sure that they will be looking not only to support the ladies team but also contribute to increasing participation amongst women and girls.”

The team represents England at the highest level, and here at Subfish we are extremely excited about the opportunity to provide support to the national team and look forward as we all hope to bring back Gold from Hungary. This sponsorship deal will not only support the England team but help grassroots angling as a whole, as we strongly believe in the NFA’s objective of increasing participation and getting more female anglers involved in the sport.”
Tommy Pickering, England Ladies Manager commented, “I am absolutely delighted with Subfish sponsoring the team.
