Employees of house building firm Barratt Homes have helped raise over £7,000 for Acorns Children’s Hospice in a charity fishing match at the Woodland View Fishery.
The event at the Droitwich complex saw the 42 of the firms suppliers and contractors select the charity as the beneficiary, before fishing off head to head.
Only one of them broke the ton barrier, Martin Dunn taking 100-7-0 to the scales to take the top prize. Daniel Smith, commercial director at Barratt West Midlands, said: “Acorns Children’s Hospice is a local charity which struck a chord with many of our staff.”
Since the charity fishing match Barratt West Midlands has managed to raise a further £765 for the Acorns Children’s Hospital, which relies on donations. The match will now be an annual event.
