Founder of Fishingforeveryone.com and Public Relations Co-ordinator to one of the world’s most well known fishing manufacturing company, Hardy & Greys is to found a ladies only fishing club.
Lucy Bowden (20) is to found the first ladies-only fishing club in the North East of England to encourage more ladies into angling and promote the sport amongst the fairer sex. Lucy first set up the website www.fishingforeveryone.com in 2003 to encourage more people into the sport of angling and it has grown from strength to strength ever since. Lucy says;
‘I believe anyone can fish, no matter what your age, race, gender or ability. The problem is finding the time and getting someone to show you how to do it! This is why I have set up the fishing club, so that ladies can give it a go and have fun together!’
Primarily fly fishing, the club is open to females of all ages and all fishing abilities and will give females the chance to go fishing together. The club is free to join and will incorporate regular monthly meetings and trips out fly fishing in the local area.

Ladies Fishing Club Set Date
The first ladies fly fishing club, based in the North East of England is to hold its first meeting on Saturday 19th April, and ladies of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in!
Run by fly-angler and founder of the website, www.fishingforeveryone.com Lucy Bowden, 20 has set up the ladies fishing club to run alongside her website to encourage and promote more ladies in fishing.
The meeting will be held at Chatton Trout Fishery, Chatton in Northumberland and will begin with coffee and a welcome introduction to the club by Lucy, followed by a few hours fishing and then a buffet lunch.
Lucy, who works as Public Relations Co-ordinator at Hardy & Greys said;
‘The club is free to join and aimed to encourage more ladies into the sport of angling, it doesn’t matter what their age or ability, I want all girls to give it a try! I will be holding various club events throughout the year and I would like to encourage the ladies- wives/ girlfriends of anglers to come along and try fly fishing!’
