Cardiff angler Jonathan Mitchell’s first ever pike was a magnificent 22lb 8oz specimen, quickly followed another double.
Both fish came from Merthyr Tydfill AC controlled Dolygaer Reservoir at Pontsticill, and fell for legered smelt deadbaits.
Jonathan (23) was fishing with experienced piking mate Nigel Sprotson, who could only manage a six-pounder.
Nigel wins a Specimen Pike award in Total Coarse Fishing magazine’s Korum Challenge competition.
