The top six all weighed in over the ton in an excellent Fish O Mania qualifier at Coleman’s Cottage that saw jack Harkness through the the big money final. Incredibly however nearly 30 anglers failed to turn up for this Essex heat. 

The best weights were on Pathfield Lake, which produced four of the top six anglers.  Andrew Geldart made the early running on peg 6 on Copse Lake, but Leamington Spa rod Harkness played the long game and eventually pulled in front, winning by around 15lb. Only on 10 peg section was won with less than 50 lbs.

1st  – Jack Harkness  124 lbs; carp and F1s on worm and caster  with his biggest fish a carp of 6 lbs.

2nd – Andrew Geldart  (Matrix/Dynamite baits)  109 lbs 8 oz; carp to 12 lbs fishing pellet shallow and worm across to the  island.

3rd – Reece Hearn (Maver Image) 107 lbs of carp to 6 lbs from Pathfield  Peg 13

4th – Keith Gooderham  from Suffolk  106 lbs 4 ozs  Pathfield  Peg 20.

5th – Steve Clark  (Maver Image) 104 lb Pathfield Peg 4.
