Have you ever read about the big summer and winter catches from the River Wye and fancied learning about how to achieve them yourself? If so, you could be in luck this summer as river expert Dave Harrell has a limited number of places available on his new coaching academy days.
Dave, who is currently also developing a new tackle brand, said: “Many anglers have asked me about coaching over the past few years but I was so busy with producing magazines that I just didn’t have the time. Now I have more time free to pass on tips and tactics to anyone who wants to learn more about river fishing. I know a lot of people want to experience the excitement of catching barbel and chub in the summer months or big bags of roach and dace in winter and there are no better rivers than the Wye on which to achieve it.
“Over the years I’ve coached many anglers of varying abilities and I pride myself on being able to identify weaknesses and on being able to improve an angler’s skills. Most anglers I’ve coached have returned for further lessons, which is a big compliment, and I’m looking forward to meeting up with some old faces as well as newcomers once the new river season gets underway again.”
In addition to one-to-one coaching, Dave can also arrange corporate days for groups of anglers on a single day or longer stay basis with overnight accommodation at Docklow Pools near Leominster, where coaching is also available throughout the year on the various pools there.
