Halesowen matchman Grant Albutt has signed a sponsorship agreement with car manufacturer BMW, and it all happened thanks to a chance conversation.

Grant, who has been selected to represent England in this year’s World Feeder Fishing Championships in South Africa, has been a customer of Sytner BMW in the Midlands for many years and mentioned the possibility during a recent visit. The deal sees Grant assigned to push the giant brand to the match angling world, while there have been exploratory discussions with reference to BMW getting behind some of the sport’s biggest events, such as UK Championships.
