The fifth round of the BW Stillwater Championships provided the best fishing so far, with Solihull’s Blythe water fishing particularly well and the top three all weighing in over 40kg.
Winner on the day was Sean Huggins, who also won round five last year. He drew peg 26 on Willow Pool where he caught first on pellet shallow, later switching to the margins to catch bigger carp, for an excellent 74.6kg winning bag. The second placed weight came from Bridge Pool where Geoff Ringer on peg 35 caught a big carp shallow first put-in and then landed fish steadily throughout the match for 42.9kg, which was 300gr too good for third placed Lee Davis. Also qualifying for the final at Earlswood Pools on September 22nd were section winners Alan Walton and Andrew Nicholls.
