An Over 50s match at Moorlands Farm produced the biggest winning margin anyone can remember for years at the Kidderminster complex, fishery manager Mal Watson topping the field by over 140lb!

Mal, who has been on a brilliant run of form, having also won three recent events in a row with 56-4-0, 78-0-0 and 90-4-0, drew Meadow Pool peg 37 and fished 13m pole for 169-4-0, with second spot taken by Martin Lafevre with less than 25lb. Mal said: “The fish shoal up at this time of year. I started on the pellet feeder but when I switched to the pole, the float never stopped going under.”
