Rae Borras takes up an invitation to compete in the River Test One Fly Competition, fished by top anglers and celebrities on the home of English fly fishing and its carriers.
The rules are simple – the anglers have just one fly with which to catch as many trout as they can. If they lose it up a tree, they have to throw in the towel and head to the local for an early bath, or maybe a beer or two!Rae teams up with two international fly anglers but before he heads off, picks up some tips and advice from ‘The Dream Team’ of Bob James, Chris Tarrant and Chris Sanford. Well, sort of!
Rae chooses a Peeping Caddis for his ‘one fly’. It’s a last-minute change of plan after finding out that his original choice is actually illegal!
He has the help of another international fly fisherman as his guide, but he’s drawn a tough beat and is somewhat downcast as he heads back to HQ, where he has something of a surprise waiting for him!
