Suzuki’s National Boat Fishing League Final supported by the National Federation of Sea Angler (NFSA) and organised by Boat Fishing Monthly magazine came to a close in Guernsey recently.

This year’s competition attracted over 2000 anglers competing from 35 clubs across England, and with Suzuki donating £25 for every club that joined the league; Suzuki raised £875 for the NFSA.

The final, fished out of St Peters Port, Guernsey for the second year running brought together 10 of the top anglers in the country, including last years finalists, Mike Teague, who had competed in the tough qualifying rounds and gained sufficient points to make it into the final.

This year’s winner was Clive Dunkling of Nayland Fishing Club in Kent who caught 31 fish. Clive Dunkling won the final despite a late surge by Bill Baynes, Clive commented “I still a bit shell shocked I’ve won this fabulous prize as it’s the first time I’ve ever caught black bream or fished the drift”.

Richard Whittaker, Suzuki Marine Sales & Marketing Manager announced the result at a presentation dinner held at the Ambassador Hotel where the finalists were based. Clive’s Dunkling prize consisted of a Warrior Pro Angler Dinghy, a Suzuki 70HP 4-stroke outboard, an indespendsion trailer and a Navman electronics package.

Clive Dunkling will receive his prize at the London Boat Show 2007.
