Lake View Fishery hosted the seventh round of Fish’O’Mania qualification this weekend and with mid-week weights soaring over 150lb, most expected a few bites at the draw. Conditions on the morning looked to be spot on, but with extra rain water the lakes resident carp and F1s remained moody.
It was Luke Sears who sealed his spot in the 50k Final from peg 13 on Reef. Luke spent most of his match mugging the lakes resident larger carp and ended up down his margins to take a late run of Carp and F1s. At the scales his fish went 84lb 4oz, which gave him the golden ticket to the final.
Drawing close by on Reef peg 16 Gareth Gibbons was the unlucky runner up with 68lb 9oz. Gareth has fished a steady match rotating 3 lines across on hard 6mm pellets to put together a net of mainly Carp and a few F1s.
Rounding out the top three was Steven Reid who fished a very different match on Marina peg 14, taking half his weight of Ide shallow on caster and half of Carp and F1s down his edge. Exactly 63lb was Stevens rewards for a well thought out match.
Our thanks to Richard, Debbie and all the team at Lake View Fishery for hosting a great qualifier and further thanks to Julie Abbot for organising on the day.
Our next qualifier is another SELLOUT at Heronbrook Fisheries and anglers are reminded to check the new procedures and pay for their pool on the Online Booking Site.
