Warwickshire Avon at Warwick – Sunday 30th October 2016

An incredibly low and clear Warwickshire Avon made for a very fair competition for the final Riverfest qualifier of 2016.

With very few bonus fish showing it was an out and out small fish match and England Team Manager Mark Downes loves just that.

Mark drew peg 30 running on to the boat club on Myton fields and took full advantage of a spare peg either side of him. Alternating between punch and chopped worm early on for small roach and perch he then switched to waggler and caught over half his 11lb weight on that in the last few hours.

Second and third in the match were just above Mark with John Brookes taking second with 9-6 just ahead of John Urruty who had 9-3.
