Nigel Harrhy doesn’t have much luck with his Christmas Match at Barston Lake, Solihull.
For the last two year’s he’s moved the date to try and avoid icy weather and failed, and this year he made it a hat-trick.
You won’t get a bite on the big lake if you break the ice, but his smaller Match Lake still fishes okay, and he managed to get all 24 of the anglers who turned up on there.
In the event Jason Shiley took the honours with 61 F1s for 28lb, with Andy May second with 26lb. And by all accounts everyone enjoyed the dinner at the West Midlands Golf Course restaurant afterwards. Nigel, who is taking a break from fishing to take up stock car racing, says he’s thinking about running his Christmas match in August next year!
