The latest WBC Angling Club match on the Grand Union at Tyseley saw Keith Woodhead set a new club match record for the stretch of 15-1-13.
Keith drew peg 51 and despite a gusting wind he fished close to the far bank using breadpunch tactics and with the roach not really showing, skimmers made up the bulk of his bag. That was a long way clear of a fish-for-fish battle for second spot, Mal Howards’s 7-3-0 of skimmers taken on squatt tactics proving just ONE DRAM too good for Wayne Shippley, who fished the same way on peg 52.The club fishes matches on the stretch every Sunday with the draw at 8.45am as the Speedwell Industrial Estate – for more information call Brian on 07788 648136.
