STACKS of superb prizes – including overseas angling holidays for specimen carp and catfish, fishing tackle, top flight rugby match tickets plus a golf day for four – will be auctioned at Sunday’s (August 14) Matt King Benefit day.

Venue is Chestnut Pool near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, where teenage angler Matt was a regular before sustaining a terrible injury during a London Broncos rugby match last year. He was left paralysed from the neck down.

Four times World Champion Bob Nudd, Mark Pollard, Dave Vincent, Dickie Carr, Steve Tyler, Lee Kerry plus 14 other well-known stars and local hotshots will compete in an exhibition match which kicks off at 10.30am.

Spectators are welcome, with food and drink available while you watch events unfold – and help an unfortunate fellow angler’s future quality of life.
