The Angling Trust’s RiverFest 2018 hosted its second qualifier of the season on the impeccable River Swale. Kidderminster angler Matt Maginnis stamped his authority on yet another big match and took the honours on the day.
In four previous visits, Matt has qualified twice, and the hat trick was completed this time with a waggler caught 45-2-0. The match winning catch consisted mainly of chub and one barbel, from fancied peg 15. Caster feed and hook bait was the winning bait combination.
The Winner of B Zone was Matt Prudhoe, with 33-2-0 of chub on stick float and caster, from peg 45. C Zone winner was Chris Jones, with 13-14-0 of chub on waggler and maggot.
Big thanks go to organiser Kevin Weighell and his team. This match is a difficult one to peg out and co-ordinate but, once again, everything ran like clockwork.
