Eleven anglers were yesterday (Tues) fined a total of £1,255 with £760 costs by Swaffham Magistrates’ Court after they pleaded guilty to fishing without a licence.

All the above defendants were prosecuted for fishing for freshwater fish by means of an unlicensed fishing instrument, namely a rod and line, contrary to Section 27(a) Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975.
Lee Williamson also had an offence of failing to state his name and address to a bailiff.
