Conditions for the eleventh round of RiverFest were rather appalling on the River Yare. Gale force winds and driving rain met the anglers, however, this certainly didn’t seem to put the fish off!
Top of the pile was John Taylor on peg 155. John fished a long feeder chuck to his far reed lined margin, taking a succession of bream, large skimmers and hybrids to storm the qualifier on 32lb 7oz. These were taken on a cage feeder with dead reds or worm hookbait.
Second on the day and qualifying from B zone for his fifth consecutive final, was Mike Bedding. Mike also caught long on the tip; taking six bream, hybrids, roach and perch for 27lb 1oz.
C Section was a close affair and Chris Smith took it by just 10oz! Chris drew peg 95 and caught three bream and hybrids on feeder fished caster and worm for 19lb 2oz.
