The latest issue of Game Fisher’s Dairy includes the incredible picture and story of a near 50lb salmon landed on the fly from the River Tweed – the biggest from the famed Scottish borders river for years.
It fell to the rod of Edinburgh angler Jim Read, with expert assistance from ghillie Ian Farr, and is easily the biggest of the respected guide’s 25-year career on the river.
The mighty cock fish measured 50 inches long with a 25 inch girth and fell to a Gold Bodied Willie Gunn tube fly – and is the top story in the video magazine’s Fly Fishing News feature which, like all the videos in the current issue, is FREE TO VIEW online, on mobile and on Samsung Smart TVs and blu-ray players.
