Anglers at Bewl Water will soon be able to enjoy a new fleet of boats to hire.
Markerstudy Leisure, owners of Bewl Water, have placed an order for 24 new Coulam Defender 15 boats to replace old Tidal Flyfisher models which are coming to the end of their lives, having given 40 years’ service to Bewl’s fishing community.
They will join 30 Coulam boats added to the Bewl fleet between 2010 and 2012.
“The new boats can hold up to three anglers and offer a stable and comfortable platform from which to fish,” said Howard Mackenzie, Estates Manager at Bewl.
“They will be arriving at a rate of four per fortnight from early autumn, and the new fleet will be complete and ready for hire from the start of the 2017 season in March.
The outgoing Tidal Flyfisher models will be available to buy from Bewl.
Markerstudy Leisure has restocked Bewl with 32,000 fish since purchasing the venue in January, a figure which will rise to 40,000 by the end of October.
Anglers are currently being challenged to land the Golden Trout, a tagged fish, which was released on August 1 and has a £2,500 bounty on its head.
Day fishing permits at Bewl are £25, with boat hire from £23 a day. Don’t want to rent a boat and would rather buy? Check out Crediful to discover what boat financing options are out there.
