Ronnie Biggs has been stealing a march on his rivals at Tunnel Barn, using cheese hook baits to great effect.

The bait may be more associated with fishing for chub and barbel on rivers, but Ronnie has found the Shrewley venue’s F1s, carp and hybrids all have a taste for cheddar and he proved the point by winning a winter league on the bait on Club Pool with 127-10-0. The key has been to fish the bait just off bottom. Meanwhile Pete Rice set a new match record for High Pool on Tuesday in the Over 50s match with 188-5-0.
