Following the NFA’s press statement regarding reported swan deaths and a proposed no fishing zone on the River Severn at Bewdley near Droitwich, the NFA can now confirm that they will attend the next council meeting on 30th June, 2008.

The NFA and Bewdley Town Council would like to issue a joint statement, “Bewdley Town Council is consulting with a wide group of interested parties, including the NFA, in order to try and reach a decision about the request to create a swan sanctuary on the river. The NFA has agreed to provide information relating to the current restrictions on the use of lead shot, and this information, together with any other information received by the Town Council, will be considered before any conclusions are made regarding the creation of a swan sanctuary.”
