REPORT
MOLANDS Molands has been in really good form this week with 100lb+ winning matches and lots of good back up weights from around the pool. A lot of fish are being caught down the margins with meat, corn, caster and pellet all accounting for big bags of F1’s, carp and skimmers. Pellet waggler and pellet feeder are also working well at the moment. Top pegs are 2, 10, 15, 21, 29 – 31, 42 – 48 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Some big weights are winning matches with nets to 130lb being caught and lots of double figure carp featuring in catches. Method feeder out to the middle stumps from pegs 9 – 13 and 31 – 36 are the best pegs for this. Fishing down the margins with corn over ground bait is also working well around the pool.
LITTLE GEARYS Lots of F1’s in the 1½lb – 3lb range are coming out with shallow pole and pellet or pellet waggler accounting for the better catches. The bigger carp have been showing well this week with plenty of fish in 8 – 12lb range coming to method or
pellet feeder fished to the island with polony or dead maggot working best. Top pegs have been 3, 7 – 11, 17, 21, and 24 – 30.
GRATUITIES Carp nets to 50lb have been taken in the week with the bigger fish falling to surface baits such as bread or dog biscuit. There are plenty of fish in the 2 – 3lb range coming to the pellet feeder fished up to the island. Mixed nets of skimmers, tench and crucians are being caught on caster or small expander pellet. Best pegs are 1, 4, 9, 15
and 16.
WILLOW Pellet waggler or pellet feeder fished to the island is working well for carp to 4lb and F1’s to 3lb. Pole fishing down the margin later in the day is producing the bigger carp with fish to double figures coming out.
SIBLINGS A & B The new Siblings pools were in good form last week giving good sport from F1’s, carp, tench and skimmers. Long pole or a small waggler fished to the far bank then switching to close in later in the day with short pole and pellet is the best approach.
ANNIVERSARIES Fishing really well with 100lb+ nets of small F1’s being caught on short pole and pellet. The new fish have spread out around the pool giving more consistent fishing with pegs 2 – 6, 12, 17, 19 and 22 all fishing well.
FIRST BAY/REEDY BAY/CRESCENT/ALDER All of these small pools have given excellent sport this week and are ideal for children and beginners. Small carp, F1’s, skimmers and crucians are showing with short pole or waggler and maggots or pellet the best approach.
