REPORT
MOLANDS The fishing got better as the week went on with match catches to over 100lb this week and good consistent sport to be had on most areas. Lots of different methods catching, fishing with long pole and pellet fished shallow and bomb and pellet/bread or pellet feeder to the island producing plenty of fish. Top pegs have been
2, 8, 10, 13, 15, 27, 31, 43 – 48 and 52 – 56.
GEARYS Match weights to nearly 100lb and pleasure nets reported in excess of that. Carp to 18lb have featured in catches this week with lots of fish in the 6 – 10lb range coming out along with decent sized skimmers, crucians and tench. Bomb and pellet is the top tactic for carp in the day but the evenings are seeing paste, corn or meat down the margins produce some big catches. Top pegs are 1, 9, 12, 16 – 21, 27, 30 – 32 and 41.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished very well with consistent sport to be had on all pegs. F1’s carp, skimmers and crucians are producing the action and small pellet/method feeder fished to the island or close down the margins with meat, caster or pellet have been the top tactics. Bomb and pellet is one approach that is starting to work well on Little Gearys too.
GRATUITIES The fishing improved this week with plenty of carp in the 2 – 4lb range and the odd bigger fish coming out along with crucians, skimmers, tench and a few barbel. The better catches of carp are coming to the pellet waggler fishing shallow up to the island. Pole and pellet or caster is working well for mixed nets. Top pegs are 1, 4, 6, 8 – 11 and 15.
WILLOW Surface baits have been accounting for a lot of fish on Willow with carp to 17lb caught last week on bread or dog biscuit. Mixed nets of carp, crucians, F1’s and skimmers are being caught on pole fished pellet or caster.
SIBLINGS A & B Both pools fished well for most of the week with carp to 6lb, tench to 4lb and lots of F1’s showing. Pole fished meat fished across to the far bank/island is the best tactic for carp with pellet best for mixed nets.
ANNIVERSARIES A bit patchy this week with the F1’s still moving around the pool. Generally the better catches are being made where the wind is blowing to and this week saw the early pegs from 1 – 9 the best area. Pole fished pellet fished into the open water is the best tactic.
