REPORT
MOLANDS The wettest weather for a long time saw the number of anglers drop but for most, the fishing was pretty good this week on Molands. Match catches to over 80lb were caught and the carp were a little more obliging all the way round with fish to 15lb weighed. The top tactics are method/pellet feeder to the island with micros on the feeder and 6mm hard pellet or meat on the hook. Pellet fished at 5 – 6 metres is also working well for mixed nets. The best pegs are 1 – 4, 10 – 15, 29 – 31, 43 – 48 and 61 – 60.
GEARYS Picking up with a lot of double figure carp showing at the moment. Match weights to 60lb+ with 30 – 40lb possible on most pegs. The top tactics have been pole down the near margin with corn or pellet or a method feeder fished into the open water with Polony, meat or pellet on the hook. Best pegs are 1, 6 – 13, 19, 23, 29 – 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished pretty well this week with the F1’s showing well and a lot of carp from 4 – 8lb, also starting to have a go. Fishing the pole at five or six metres shallow is working well with the bigger F1’s coming short to pellet. A small method or pellet feeder is working well with meat or white boilies the best hook baits. Top pegs
1 – 4, 8 – 15, 19, 21 and 25 – 27.
GRATUITIES Pole tactics seem to be better than the feeder at the moment with bags of carp and tench coming to the pole at 10 – 13 metres with corn or pellet fished over micros working best. The pole is fishing well along the straights with pegs 3 – 5 and 11 – 15 going well.
ANNIVERSARIES Very quiet on Anniversaries with not many pleasure anglers out in the rain. The few who fished, reported that pole fished pellet or caster up to the islands is the best tactic for mixed nets of small carp, skimmers and tench.
WILLOW Lots of fish coming to the pellet at 8 – 12 metres on the pole but the best tactic is to fish a small method tight up to the island with carp in the 1 – 4lb bracket and F1’s coming to this. Best pegs are from 5 – 10.
