REPORT
MOLANDS Shallow fishing is coming into its own with pellet waggler, shallow pole and pellet and the jigger float all catching plenty of fish. Big F1’s to 6lb, carp to 15lb, tench to 5lb and crucians to 2lb have all featured in catches this week and nets to over 100lb have been recorded. The wind is dominating where the fish are and the hot pegs have been 15 – 19, 27, 31, 40 – 45 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Fished very well early in the week but as temperatures dropped off toward the weekend catches went down. Lots of carp showing and some big fish too and fish to 19lb have been reported along with plenty of other doubles. Straight lead and pellet or method feeder have been the best tactics for carp but pole and meat also starting to work. Good mixed nets are coming to the caster or expander pellet with skimmers, smaller carp, tench and crucians featuring. Top pegs are 7, 11, 13, 20 – 24, 27 and 31 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished very well this week with match weights to over 100lb and some cracking fish being caught also. Carp into double figures are showing in increasing numbers and the F1’s are running to 5lb. Shallow pole and pellet/caster or fishing down the margins with worm, caster or maggot fished over ground bait have all been the successful tactics. Fishing well all round but the hot pegs have been 3, 5, 8, 11 – 17, 21 and 24 – 26.
GRATUITIES Grats is fishing well with the stand out catches being made up with crucians to over 1lb in nets to 50lb on the pole at 6 – 10 metres using caster or soft pellet. The carp are showing near the top and pleasure anglers have been catching well on floating bread or dog biscuit with fish to double figures coming to this. Best pegs are 1, 2, 8, 9 and 15.
WILLOW Pleasure anglers have caught lots of carp in the 3 – 8lb bracket fishing with bread on the top. In matches, the best tactics have been down the margin with caster or corn for carp and F1’s. Best pegs are 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 and 12.
SIBLINGS A (Doughnut). Fished better all round this week with F1’s, carp and roach coming to pole and pellet or maggot feeding small amounts of micros or Ground bait regularly working best. Best pegs are 1, 3, 9, 12 and 17 – 22.
SIBLINGS B (Horseshoe). Very consistent with every peg producing plenty of F1’s along with the odd tench to 3lb. Pole fished pellet is the best tactic
ANNIVERSARIES The F1’s are starting to spread out but pegs 12 – 15 are the fliers at the moment producing lots of F1’s from 8oz – 1lb on short pole with pellet or maggot on the hook. Carp are showing on the top with pegs 1 – 3 producing fish to 8lb on corn or floating bread.
