REPORT

MOLANDS   Fishing pretty well this week with a variety of methods working at the moment.  The method feeder fished tight to the island or just down the shelf on the far side with polony, pellet or dead reds on the hook has been the top tactic for carp with fish to 14lb recorded in matches.  Paste fished down the near margin is starting to work well catching mixed nets of tench, skimmers, crucians and F1’s.  Chopped worm and caster are also producing decent mixed nets either fished on the pole or in a cage feeder.  The best areas this week have been pegs 1 – 4, 15 – 19, 25 – 29, 41 – 46 and 54 – 60.

GEARYS   The warm weather has got the carp feeding well with most pegs producing fish in the 4 – 8lb range along with the odd double figure fish.  Skimmers also showing in areas with the high bank the hotspot for them and fish between 1 – 4lb have made up the
better catches along there.  Method feeder is the top tactic at the moment with meat or pellet on the hook but paste fished down the edges is also working very well.  Top pegs are 6 – 13, 17 – 19, 23 – 28 and 31 – 33.

LITTLE GEARYS   Starting to fish a lot better with shallow tactics taking the large nets.   Pellet or caster is taking F1’s to 5lb and also skimmers to 2lb.  Method feeder or pellet feeder tight to the island is also producing with punched bread, pellet or meat on the hook for carp and F1’s.  It has been very consistent, with 20 – 30lb off most pegs in matches and winning weights to over 60lb.

GRATUITIES   Pleasure anglers found the better carp willing last week with fish to 10lb coming out on bread or dog biscuit fished on the top.  Smaller carp and tench also made up some decent catches on the pole and pellet with pegs 1 – 3 and 13 – 15 in good form at the moment.

WILLOW   Fished well with carp, F1’s, skimmers and crucians all feeding well.  Fish down the edges for the bigger fish with paste, pellet or meat.  Best pegs are 1, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12.

ANNIVERSARIES   Most anglers fishing Anniversaries last week enjoyed good sport with mixed nets of tench, skimmers, small carp and crucians coming to the caster or pellet.  Every peg on the pool has a feature, either a far bank chuck or an island to fish up to and those that fished up to these have had the best results.  Top pegs are 1 – 6, 9, 10, 15, 17 and 22.

SIBLINGS   Best pool for tench bags with anglers reporting up to 15 fish in single sessions with fish running to over 5lb.  Paste or meat fished down the near margin is the best tactic for tench.  Pole and pellet or caster is working well for mixed catches of skimmers, crucians, tench and carp.  The top end of the pool on either point or around the reed beds are the best areas.

FIRST BAY, REEDY BAY, CRESCENT & ALDER   These small pools have been in good form with lots of small tench, carp to 2lb, roach, crucians and skimmers coming out with the odd bigger carp to 8lb also showing this week.  Float fished corn or pellet has accounted for the better catches.
