FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS The fishing has been excellent on Molands this week with the carp showing well along with F1’s, skimmers and plenty of crucians. Bomb and pellet, pellet waggler, pellet feeder all fished across to the island have accounted for the better carp with fish to 16lb weighed in during matches. The F1’s are coming shallow with pole and pellet at 13 metres best and this tactic accounted for the best weight of the year off Molands, a terrific 174lb caught by Aiden Mansfield from peg 12. Top pegs this week have been 2, 10 – 19, 23,
27 – 29, 42- 48 and 54 – 60.
GEARYS A little patchy this week with the best of the action being earlier in the week when pleasure anglers were reporting 100lb+ bags of carp and fish to nearly 20lb. Boilies fished with PVA bags fished out to the middle stumps have been the best tactic for pleasure anglers. In the matches, straight lead and pellet or a method feeder has been best. Top pegs are 1, 6, 9 – 13, 19, 23, 27, 31 and 37.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a little harder than normal at the weekend but through the week Little Gearys was in really good form and match weights to over 120lb have been caught this week. Shallow tactics best in matches and pleasure anglers have found fishing corn, meat or pellet down the edge really productive. Top pegs are 3, 5, 7 – 12, 17, 19, 24 – 29.
GRATUITIES Surface fishing has been good providing carp to double figures and plenty in the 4 – 8lb range on floating expander, dog biscuit and bread. Pellet feeder or waggler to the middle island has also been giving good sport. Best pegs 1, 3 – 6, 9 and 15.
ANNIVERSARIES Lots of F1’s being caught from all areas with expander pellet fished over micros or hard pellet. Tench to 4lb and a few carp to double figures have also featured in catches this week. Best pegs have been 2 – 6, 10, 12, 15, 17, 22 and 23.
SIBLINGS A Pleasure anglers have had some good nets this week with the evening’s fishing best down the margins with meat, corn or hard pellet. Carp to 9lb, F1’s, skimmers and tench have all figured in catches this week with the best pegs 1 – 5 and 17 – 22.
