REPORT
MOLANDS The water has gone very clear and made for quite patchy sport although this improved through the weekend. Pellet waggler fished with 8mm pellet has been the winning method in matches with pellet or method feeder also producing the decent nets. Pole fished down the near margin is catching late in the day with paste or pellet producing mixed nets of tench, F1’s and the occasional lump carp. Best pegs are 1 – 4, 12, 15, 21, 27, 33, 41 – 45 and 58 – 60.
GEARYS Fishing has been a lot better, particularly for the pleasure anglers fishing into the evening. Carp to 17lb featuring in catches and the skimmers are showing well in areas. Straight lead and pellet or pellet waggler are the best tactics for carp and paste down the near margin working well for bream and mixed nets. Best pegs are along the high bank from 6 – 15 and 18, 21, 24, 27 and 30.
LITTLE GEARYS Steady rather than spectacular with match weights to over 70lb but most pegs providing plenty of action. F1’s providing the bulk of catches but carp, skimmers and tench also showing. Pole fished pellet shallow is the top tactic but the method feeder has also produced good nets. Top pegs 7, 10 – 13, 21 and 26.
GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers reporting nets to 80lb+ with carp in the 1 – 4lb range making up the better catches. Tench, skimmers and crucians are also showing well. Long pole with pellet or meat is the top tactic but surface baits are accounting for the bigger fish. Best pegs are 1 – 4, 8 and 11 – 14.
WILLOW Fishing pretty well at the moment with mixed nets coming to pole fished pellet or caster and the bigger carp coming shallow on either a pellet waggler or long pole and pellet. Best pegs 1, 5, 6, 9 and 12.
ANNIVERSARIES For lots of fish, Anniversaries has been producing well although nets of fish are mainly small crucians, tench, skimmers roach and the odd barbel. Caster or pellet fished over micros is a popular tactic with the bigger fish usually tight up to the islands or any feature. Top pegs 1 – 6, 9, 12, 15, 17 and 21 – 23.
