REPORT
MOLANDS Molands has fished a lot better this week with the windy conditions making the fish move about and feed better. Carp to over 17lb have been caught in matches this week along with F1’s to 6lb. Bomb or waggler with 6mm pellet fished out to the middle island is working well with pellet feeder, banjo or long pole and pellet also catching. Top pegs have been 2, 6, 8, 15, 21, 27, 31, 43 – 46 and 52 – 58.
GEARYS Despite being half frozen on Monday the milder conditions have seen the carp continue to feed with catches to 80lb coming off and amongst these nets are plenty of fish into double figures. Bomb and bread/8mm pellet have been the best tactic but a small method is also working as well. Good nets of skimmers are being caught with bags to 30lb+ along the high bank on pole and caster or pellet. Best pegs 7 – 13, 16,
18 – 21 and 31 – 36.
18 – 21 and 31 – 36.
LITTLE GEARYS The most reliable pool for getting lots of bites with F1’s to 4lb showing on most pegs along with skimmers and the odd bigger carp to 10lb. The top tactic has been pole and pellet fished long or down the margins and pellet feeder/banjo feeder fished up to the island with dead reds or pellet on the hook. Top pegs have been
5, 7 – 11, 15, 21 and 27 – 30.
5, 7 – 11, 15, 21 and 27 – 30.
GRATUITIES Bread punch or corn on the waggler is catching well for carp mainly from 1 – 3lb but the odd fish to 8lb coming to this. A small pellet feeder or straight lead and pellet are also worth a try at the moment. Best pegs 1, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 15.
WILLOW Pellet or maggot on the waggler fished out to the island is catching plenty of F1’s, carp and skimmers. Fishing down the margins with corn or pellet is still the best tactic to catch the bigger carp with fish to double figures falling to this.
ANNIVERSARIES This pool is still very patchy with lots of F1’s being caught on some pegs but others are not producing. Pegs 2, 6, 13 – 15 and 23 are the better pegs with pole and pellet fished long the top tactic.
