REPORT
MOLANDS Molands fished very well this week with the milder weather spurring the fish on to the feed. Match weights to just under 60lb and pleasure anglers reporting even bigger nets. Carp, F1’s and big skimmers have made up the catches with pole and pellet working well and pellet feeder with punched bread or hard pellet also picking up plenty of fish. Best pegs 2, 8, 12 – 19, 25, 29, 42 – 48 and 54 – 58.
GEARYS This pool has been in excellent form this week with bigger nets of silver fish showing on all areas of the pool. Bigger bream to 5lb and lots of skimmers in the 1 – 2lb range have been caught this week and the best tactic has been to fish the pole with corn, pellet or dead maggot over ground bait. Carp are also starting to show in numbers with fish to double figures coming to edge tactics with worm or corn fished down the margins. Top pegs are 11 – 19, 21, 27, 31 – 33 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS Steady fishing this week with nets to 40lb mainly of F1’s but with the odd bonus bigger carp to 8lb. Shallow tactics are starting to work with a match win on the pellet waggler in the week. Pole fished pellet is the main tactic either fished long or down the inside margin. Top pegs 7 – 13, 17 – 21 and 25 – 29.
WILLOW Plenty of F1’s, skimmers and roach are being caught on long pole with maggot, caster or small expanders and feeder to the island with pellet, punched bread fished down the inside margin has been working well for the bigger carp.
GRATUITIES The carp are showing well around the pool but the end pegs still remain the best areas with fish feeding close into the margins. Corn, pellet or caster have been the top baits and 1, 8, 9, 15 and 16 are the best pegs.
